Jealous here meaning wholly devoted to; not having an equal or rival. By calling Himself Jealous, God is describing His immutability as well as His utter devotion to those He has called to Himself. He is saying He has no variance within Himself nor does He show variance within His conduct with others. … Expand

Sons of God are first mentioned in Genesis where they are said to have looked upon the daughters of men and having found them beautiful took wives of them. Genesis 6:2 further in the text we see that the sons of God had children with the daughters of men and it seems to indicate that their offspring were notable for their size and strength. v.4. Two things should be noted, first, it seems that the intermingling of the sons of God and the daughters of men appears to have affected the general moral state of mankind negatively, (v.5) also, all this took place before the flood. Whether Noah decided never to become intoxicated again or not one thing is certain, Ham's actions caused way more harm than any possible good. … Expand

That puts a new perspective on how seriously God views His commandment to us to honor our father and mother as well as our husbands and those He has placed in authority over us. Forgive me Lord for my disrespectful attitude, mouth and behavior, in Christ's name, amen. … Expand
