Jesus states a case where a man would actually “sacrifice his property,” and practice diligence and watchfulness to obtain the wealth which he had discovered. The point of the parable lies in his “earnestness,” his anxiety, his care, and his actually obtaining it. The gospel is more valuable than such a treasure, Psa 19:10; Pro 3:13-15. When a person sees it and hears it, it is his duty to sacrifice all that hinders his obtaining it, and to seek it with the earnestness with which other people seek for gold. The truth often lies buried: it is like rich veins of ore in the sacred Scriptures; it must be searched out with diligence, and its discovery will repay a man for all his sacrifices, Luk 14:33; Php 3:8. … Expand

Christ has in the first instance made you “His Epistle" (Jar 31:31-34). There is not so powerful a sermon in the world, as a consistent Christian life. Why? Because the eye of the world takes in more than the ear. We have to understand that the only religious books the WORLD reads comes in the form of the CHRISTIANS' life's. So as CHRISTIANS' we must "Give unbelievers the chance of believing through our BEHAVIOR and ACTIONS. I want to say something to you and I hope and pray that what I'm about to say will touch your heart in a way that you will never forget it. (In fact, if you can, write it down so you can meditate on it later on). "YOUR LIFE,(your own life) is the form of language in which GOD addresses unbelievers". … Expand

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. The Arabic version renders it, "blessed is he that doubts not of me". The Persic and Ethiopic versions both add to the text, the former rendering the words thus, "blessed is he that is not brought into offence and doubt concerning me"; and the latter thus, "blessed are they who do not deny me, and are not offended in me": particular regard is had to the disciples of John, who both doubted of Christ as the Messiah, and were offended at his popularity and success; See Gill on Mat 11:6. … Expand

True wisdom shows itself by its works; folly is never found in the wise man’s way, any more than wisdom is in the path of a fool.

Just as the scribes and the Pharisees watched Jesus,so that they might find a reason to accuse him, people are looking at us Christians to see if they could find a reason to accuse us as well. That is why we Christians have to live a life worthy of the Gospel of Christ (Phi.1:27). We are also to have an attitude as that of Christ Jesus (Phi.2:5). Who,being in the form of God,did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond servant, and coming in the likeness of man (Phi.2:6-7). In other words, we are to live a life as the elect of God,holy and beloved, putting on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, and long-suffering (Col.3:12). So When they see you they see Christ ! Amen. … Expand

(Matthew 7:3-5) What these verses are simply saying is that before you find any fault with anyone you have to first look at YOURSELF. You have to make sure you remove any HINDERANCE that may be in YOUR OWN LIFE before you try to remove any hinderance that may be in the life of someone else's. You see, People DO NOT AND WILL NOT RESPECT someone that tries to correct them of a fault that they may have when that person is doing the very same thing or if that person is not conducting themselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of CHRIST JESUS (Php. 1:27).I pray that GOD gives us the HUMILITY and COURAGE to first examine ourselves before we try to examine someone else. MAY GOD BLESS,YOU PROTECT YOU, AND GUIDE YOU IN THE WAY TO GO AMEN. … Expand

What this means is simply that we have a choice to make. Either we serve GOD or MONEY. However, What we need to understand when making this choice is that MONEY IS SIMPLY A MEANS TO AN END and GOD IS A MEANS TO ETERNAL LIFE. My prayer is that you choose to serve GOD over money not only because GOD offers ETERNAL LIFE but because you come to learn and understand that; HE IS THE WAY,THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE (JOHN 14:6). And that; HE IS WORTHY TO RECEIVE THE GLORY, THE HONOR AND THE PRAISE. Amen! Please keep this in mind, GOD IS LOVE & ETERNAL LIFE and MONEY is a means to an end.(And if not careful, An end that leads to ETERNAL DAMNATION). MAY GOD BLESS YOU, PROTECT YOU, AND GUIDE YOU IN THE WAY TO GO!!! … Expand

What this means is that we are to worship and serve God with our WHOLE HEART not with our intellect. KNOWLEDGE IS NOT SALVATION. YOU SHOULD KNOW THE BIBLE, BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANT, YOU SHOULD KNOW THE GOD WHOM THE BIBLE REVEALS AND THE SALVATION THAT GOD OFFERS. THE JEWISH TEACHERS (the scribes and Pharisees) OF THE BIBLE KNEW THE OLD TESTAMENT THOROUGHLY, BUT THEY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT SAID ABOUT THE MESSIAH. … Expand
