Then tell her to help me."But the Lord answered and said to her, "aMartha, Martha, you are bworried and bothered about so many things;abut only one thing is necessary, for bMary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”

She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin,and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
