And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

God found favor in Noah to build an arc so that it would rain for forty days and nights and the people of that time would be completely destroyed. They were so evil, God was very unhappy. Noah was righteous in God's sight and spared him and his three sons and their wives.
