Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Adds details of what must happen before the day of the Lord: the faithful falling away and revealing the man of sin. This is contrary to the pre-tribulation rapture and/or imminent rapture. Doesn't make much sense to tell the faithful what to look for when they're not even going to be here to see it.
