The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

1. Spirit of God hovering over the face of the waters alludes to the Baptism of Jesus (Matt 3:16) when the Holy spirit descended on Jesus like a dove just as he came out of the water.
2. Spirit of God existed from the beginning, God was always a trinity, always plural.
