‘We have fasted before you!’ they say. ‘Why aren’t you impressed? We have been very hard on ourselves, and you don’t even notice it!’ “I will tell you why!” I respond. “It’s because you are fasting to please yourselves. Even while you fast, you keep oppressing your workers.

How to get Gods attention.
Just because you are saved do not mean that you have gotten God's attention.
1. The complaining church. The church complaining that they have been doing everything but God has not answered them. They had no true delight in god and his service. We profess in the things of god but not the ways of god, the external structure is highlighted but not the internal truth. Pleasure in taking care of but not pleasure in the true worship of God.
God is impressed by the godly motivation that comes from within the spirit of god from the heart.
God is not impressed by the outwardly or inwardly appearances if it is not coming from a love and reverence of him.
