Now athe angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to bShur.

"So I have come down ato deliver them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a bgood and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of cthe Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.

"Now, behold, athe cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

"Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, aso that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt."

But Moses said to God, "aWho am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?"

The angel of the Lord said to Manoah, "Though you detain me, aI will not eat your food, but if you prepare a burnt offering, then offer it to the Lord." For Manoah did not know that he was the angel of the Lord.

Manoah said to the angel of the Lord, "aWhat is your name, so that when your words come to pass, we may honor you?"

So aManoah took the young goat with the grain offering and offered it on the rock to the Lord, and He performed wonders while Manoah and his wife looked on.

For it came about when the flame went up from the altar toward heaven, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar. When Manoah and his wife saw this, they afell on their faces to the ground.

Now the angel of the Lord did not appear to Manoah or his wife again. aThen Manoah knew that he was the angel of the Lord.
